Nobel Peace Prize nominee to speak on Columbia: a war without limits

Gerson Andres Florez Perez, Nobel Peace Prize nominee 2002, will speak about the civil war in Colombia and its effects on children in a lecture titled Columbia: A War without Limits. Children, Hope, Present and Future, on Monday 13 May at LSE.

He will focus especially on antipersonnel landmines as a threat to children and youth, and some of the peace initiatives carried out by children and youth in Colombia. Gerson will also mention the war's impact on the country's economy, and the economic reasons behind the conflict.

Dr Francisco Panizza, LSE, will chair the event, which is free and open to all. No ticket is required.
