Madeleine Albright at LSE

US Secretary of State Madeleine K Albright gave a speech today, Friday 26 May, on US-Russian relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Secretary Albright made her address to LSE students, staff, alumni and guests at the School, as preparations are made for President Clinton's meeting with the new Russian leadership in June.

LSE Director and Third Way author Professor Anthony Giddens played host to the US Secretary.

She made the visit to LSE after Ministerial Meetings of NATO's North Atlantic Council and Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in Florence, Italy, on May 24 and 25.

Professor Giddens said: 'It was a privilege for LSE to welcome Dr Albright and to hear her views on current US and Russian relations, especially as global governance is an area of great research interest for the School.'
