The Centre currently runs two scholarship programmes; one of them aimed at final year PhD students at LSE researching the region and the other aimed at Arab Nationals who wish to pursue their Master's studies at LSE.
The LSE MEC Emirates PhD Scholarship provides support for PhD research at LSE on Middle East topics. The awards, based on need and merit, provide support for students who are in the final stages of their doctoral degree. Eligibility is restricted to students who will submit a thesis within the relevant academic year on any Middle East or Arab League member state and in any discipline.
The LSE MEC Emirates Master's Scholarship is aimed at supporting Arab nationals to study for Master’s Degrees at LSE. The programme is open to all nationals of Arab League States who intend to focus their studies on the Middle East (the 22 Arab League member states plus Iran, Turkey and Israel).
Both programmes are supported by the Emirates Foundation.
Please note that the Middle East Centre does not provide supervision for PhD students or module teaching. Students interested in joining LSE should contact the admissions office or the relevant department.
