Visiting Senior Fellow
Dr Abeer Al-Najjar is Visiting Senior Fellow at the LSE Middle East Centre. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mass Communication, American University of Sharjah-United Arab Emirates. Abeer earned a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
During her fellowship, Abeer will work on a research project focusing on mechanisms and instruments for media accountability. The project aims to examine the ways in which Arab media audiences (citizens) could be empowered to influence news media conduct and enhance their responsibility towards adhering to ethical journalistic practices and standards.
