Aisha Al-Sarihi is a Research Officer at the LSE Kuwait Programme working on Climate Change in GCC States. Aisha is completing her doctoral thesis at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London. The focus of her doctoral thesis is to investigate a potential shift to low-carbon economies in hydrocarbon-rich countries with a particular focus on the role of a wide-scale integration of renewable energy. Her research interests encompass energy policy and governance in the Middle East and North African countries, notably issues of energy subsidies and electricity tariff subsidies; energy system modelling; renewable energy policies; and climate change policies in developing countries.
