Rana Kabbani is a writer and broadcaster, whose books include the now classic 'Imperial Fictions', and whose radio and film programmes for the BBC pioneered the British media's inclusion of Arab culture, as well as its first discussions of the Muslim community in Britain. In 'Why Arabs burn for freedom,' she will be giving a personal account of her own generation's social and political experience, in light of the popular revolution presently sweeping her part of the world.
