Ahmet K. Suerdem is a Full time Professor at Istanbul Bilgi University and Senior Academic visitor at the LSE. He has received his doctorate from Paris 8 University. He was a European Council Post-Doc fellow at Paris 5, Social Anthropology dept. and Visiting Research Fellow at the UCLA and UCI, Marketing departments.
His current research interests include bridging qualitative and qualitative methods for text analysis. More specifically, he works on text mining and integrating network analysis for detecting meaning patterns in textual and visual data.
He is currently part time teaching at the LSE social network analysis in MY560 Workshop in Advanced Quantitative Methods seminars and Provalis and UCInet modules in MY591 Workshop in Applied Analysis Software. He is also involved in the Mapping the Cultural Authority of Science EU-India project directed by Martin Bauer.
