Findings

 

• Use of internet (instant messenger) for communication with parents working abroad: 21% of children use this method several times a week, 6% once a week, while 12% use it every 2-3 weeks. Using the internet for leisure activities: 41% declare they don’t spend any time using the internet for this purpose, 22% declare they use the internet daily for leisure activities, with an average time of 55 minutes a day. Favourite activities: ‘computer games and/or internet surfing’ rank second with 17% of responses, as opposed to 5% for ‘watching TV’ (open question, multiple choice).
