• Girls use their mobile phones more often than boys; boys use their own PC more often. • About one-third have had contact with sexting. • When faced with a sexual reference online or on a mobile phone, children would feel surprised (40%), embarrassed (30%), afraid that others would see it (29%) and sometimes disgusted (22%) and uneasy (19%). They would also sometimes feel curious (25%), and like it (8%). Girls would feel significantly more embarrassed and boys more curious. • Motivations for posting sexual content are to get noticed by another person (47%), stupidity (45%), to attract the attention of a person he/she likes (28%), and even being forced to (14%). • Negative consequences of posting sexual references as perceived by young people is the possibility of meeting dangerous people (57%), getting into trouble with parents (49%), being sexually abused (45%) and gradually ending up in prostituting one’s self (12.8%). • There are no big differences between countries.
