• 59.2% of children aged 12-18 access the internet from their mobile phone or smartphone.
• 6.7% of children aged 12-18 sent sexual messages, while 10.2% of the interviewees have received messages of this kind.
• Synchronous communication, such as Facebook chat, has replaced email: 70.3% of the sample does not send or receive emails. 85.6% have a profile on Facebook, and 7 out of ten children use it on a daily basis. 30.8% have more than 500 friends, 33.5% between 200 and 500, 21.9% have between 50 and 200 contacts, while just 4.4% have less then 50 contacts. Despite the popularity of SNSs, 75% of teenagers say they prefer to talk about important issues face-to-face.
• Only 46.7% include only pre-existing friends among their online contacts; 8.5% report accepting friendship by strangers, and 6.4% do so after looking for online information about this person.
• Most interviewees report one or more experiences of internet addiction: 49.9% admit forgetting to do other things because they are online; 42.5% report checking Facebook or their mailbox continuously; 19.5% are stressed and nervous when they cannot go online; and 17.2% unsuccessfully tried to reduce time spent online.
