Social Solidarity in the Age of Algorithmic Communication
Drawing on themes from cultural sociology, urban studies, STS and media studies, I aim to understand how social solidarity, as a key infrastructure of political practice, can be articulated in today's data-rich environment. My research interests are broad and interdisciplinary, but can generally fall into the two following areas: 1) Social and democratic theories; justice and ethics; civil society and public sphere; normative foundations of cosmopolitanism 2) Big Data analytics; datafication and dataveillance; privacy and freedom in the age of hyperconnectivity; algorithmic configuration of the self.

My first academic training was in Philosophy, but I completed my Bachelor's degree in Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London, while working as a researcher for an international news agency in London. Then I earned my first Master's degrees in Sociology from the University of Cambridge, after which I worked as a research associate at a government-approved media regulatory authority. I came back to academia in 2014 and undertook my second Master's degree in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science, while working as a research assistant. I am currently working with Professor Nick Couldry on the project The Price of Connection.
