Charlie Beckett, Polis Director

Charlie Beckett is the director of Polis. He has 20 years of experience with LWT, BBC and ITN's Channel 4 News. He broadcasts and writes regularly on media and political affairs and is the author of SuperMedia: Saving Journalism So It Can Save The World (Blackwell, 2008) and more recently, 'WikiLeaks: News In The Networked Era' (Polity, 2012). He teaches at the LSE. He is also a trustee for The Media Society, Article 19 and the International Development Institute.

Marion Koob, Assistant to the Polis Director

Marion is the assistant to Polis Director Charlie Beckett. Her role involves the overall coordination of Polis, the recruitment and management of Polis interns, event planning, and fundraising. She also represents the Department of Media and Communications on the LSE Alumni Media Group Committee. Previously, Marion has worked at Chatham House, Strategy Eye, and Paramount Pictures. She is an LSE alumna and has an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.


Christine Boykiw, Polis Graduate Intern

Christine is the Graduate Intern at Polis and is involved with organising events as well as coordinating Polis research. Christine has also worked extensively on an overhaul of Polis' web presence. Previously, she was a student at the LSE where she obtained a MSc in International Political Economy and a BSc in International Relations. She has worked for the US State Department as well as the High Commission of Canada in the UK in the past.
