The Mathematics Department uses a standardised scheme for grading classwork, so that the grades may be properly interpreted to provide regular feedback to students on their progress, throughout the academic year.
Classwork (formative work) in courses given by the Mathematics Department is graded according to the categories used in the School's official class report forms. The grades are:
VG - Very Good
G - Good
S - Satisfactory
P - Poor
For undergraduate students: when work is not submitted, no grade will be assigned in LSEforYou.
We stress that classwork grades reflect performance on a particular piece of work done in particular circumstances. They are intended to give students indicative feedback on their progress, but they do not necessarily predict performance in the final examination.
