Kelly holds an M.B.A. from Babson College, an M.S.W. for clinical practice from Boston University and a B.A. in Sociology from Boston College. Prior to coming to the LSE in 2007, Kelly worked in commercial research and consulting for over a decade, in both research-based and managerial roles. Kelly has lived in London with her husband and three children for the past five years.
Subject areas: Flexible Work Structures, Leadership and Work-Family Values, 360º Work-Family Coaching and Engaging the Maturing Workforce.
Kelly's research interests focus on work-life balance, work-life enrichment, and work-life boundary management. Her paper-based dissertation had led her to explore antecedents of work-life enrichment, as well as the role of person-environment fit on the work-life relationship. In addition, she has explored the differences relating to the impact of social and family supports for workers in office-based versus off-shore roles. Last, she is currently working on a diary study with dual-earner couples, exploring boundary management tactics and the impact of boundary violations on individual and couple well-being.
