EGMiM class of 2013-15
After speaking with the Programme Director Professor Estrin at an information session I explained that I had many questions on the global economy, his response was "this course will not only answer your questions but will teach you how to think". This confirmed that the Executive GMiM was the course for me, and his statement stood out for me as I know the importance of understanding how to approach any management issue that I will inevitably be faced with in the future.
I wanted to attend a school with solid academic excellence, and I also wanted flexibility and an in depth understanding of economics with a global focus - the Executive GMiM has provided just this.
As a consultant interested in emerging economies and technologies I wanted to use the course electives in Singapore and Turkey to gain an insight into global markets beyond London and the much talked about BRICs.
By far one of my favourite classes has been Managerial Economics which includes concepts such as 'Game Theory' and price discrimination which have been enlightening, and have provided insight into the competitor industries such as Aviation and Entertainment.
Another great aspect of the programme are the people, firstly the faculty who are both academic leaders in their field, and also enthusiastic, and make the learning of new and complex managerial concepts compelling. Secondly the the international cohort, which is unique to LSE, making this a truly global programme.
