Career development during the programme

Leadership development programme

Students will undertake a Leadership development programme alongside the core academic curriculum. The programme is designed to equip students with the insights, analytical capabilities and skills to meet the challenges facing leaders who seek to shape organisations in today's world, focusing on managing yourself and others, and increasing employee well-being and performance while working in dynamic and complex environments.

The course explores the nature of leadership, and how leadership can be effectively practised at work. The emphasis will be on critical self-reflection, as well as understanding and applying theory. The course will also enhance awareness of personal strengths, how strengths can be built upon for leadership development, and how leaders can contribute to the growth of their teams and organisations. Sessions will also consider how to create optimal environments within which employees can thrive.

Executive career coaching

In the second year of the programme, students will receive bespoke individual career coaching from an external Executive Careers Coach, giving in-depth support tailored to each individual student's current situation and future plans. One-to-one meetings with the coach will take place during the classroom teaching modules, as well a Skype/phone session between modules.
