Biography
Dr Silvia Masiero holds a PhD in Information Systems from LSE and her core research focus is on the multiple forms of embeddedness of the IT artefact in development policy and governance. Her current research focuses on the role of digital technologies in reconstructing accountability mechanisms in the Indian Public Distribution System (PDS), the biggest food security net in India. As a member of the LSE Conflict Research Group, Silvia also focuses on the use of ICTs in the management of complex humanitarian emergencies, and on the role of technology in the provision of emergency assistance to refugees.
