Biography
Dr Susanna Khavul is the Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and a research associate at the Centre for Economic Performance at LSE. She is an associate professor of strategic management, entrepreneurship, and innovation at the University of Texas at Arlington and was previously an assistant professor at the London Business School.
Dr Khavul’s research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer alternative financial instruments as well as fintech innovations, financial inclusion, and mobile financial solutions in emerging and developed economies.
Dr Khavul has received awards for research and teaching excellence including the Academy of Management’s Entrepreneurship Division’s IDEA Award for Thought Leadership, the Heizer Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Research, and the University of Texas System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award. She holds a doctorate (highest honours) in strategy and entrepreneurship from Boston University and a degree in economics (high honours) from U.C. Berkeley with LSE in the mix.
Dr Khavul co-leads Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Age of Change on LSE’s Executive Summer School and on the TRIUM's Technological Disruption and Entrepreneurship module in San Francisco.
