Joanne has worked at the LSE since 1995 in a number of roles including LSE Enterprise, manager of two research centres, and running the Director’s office. She undertook an MSc in Comparative Politics at LSE during 1994-5, following a BSc in Economics and Politics at Swansea University. Whilst working in the Director’s office Joanne supported the establishment of the Department of Management which she then joined as Departmental Manager (Strategic Planning and Development) in 2006. She has been responsible for the overall administration across the department from that time, including strategic planning and resources, development of new programmes and courses, expanding and developing the professional services teams, and input into governance. She has overseen a PSS restructure, and works very closely with the Head of Department to ensure the department meets all its responsibilities. Joanne is passionate about building high performing teams, and the development of PSS. She is a member of the Department’s Executive Committee, and leads the professional services senior management team. She has been a Co-Chair of the Academic Managers Forum (all Department and Centre Managers) twice in the last five years.
