PhD student in Management

Biography

Lamees Tanveer is a PhD candidate in Employment Relations and Organizational Behaviour at the Department of Management. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Management and Governance from the LSE and received her BA in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College in the United States with a Public Policy concentration. In previous years, Lamees worked with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as the Research Expert for the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme. She worked with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) in Pakistan as the National Project Assistant for the Investment Promotion Unit, established by UNIDO and the Italian Development Cooperation. She has experience in project design, gender parity initiatives as well as technical skills training and enterprise development training for women.

Given her professional experience, Lamees' primary research interest is entrepreneurship in the Global South. She explores how women entrepreneurs are changing the entrepreneurial landscape in emerging economies by negotiating with social systems that create enabling or constraining conditions for venture creation.
