About me

Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Bristol (UK) where he read Economics and Accounting with Law and Politics. Following his undergraduate degree Jonathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) working in various finance and consultancy roles in the media industry. His employers and clients included the Walt Disney Company, Channel 4 and News International. Jonathan's interest in academia was rekindled following a chance encounter with a research problem highlighted in a professional journal.

Jonathan's research is concerned with developmental networks: career-focused subsets of a social network. This is a relatively new research area that combines the mentorship literature with the latest social network theories. His study explores how differences in the bicultural experiences of minority ethnic professionals affect the content and structure of their developmental networks and corresponding career outcomes. This research introduces bicultural experience to organisational studies by integrating the diversity and developmental network literatures.
