Linda Walker is a graduate of the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and holds an MA in Labour Studies from the University of Sussex. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has twenty-plus years' experience in Human Resource Management.
Mrs Walker spent a number of years in a very large British telecommunications company where she gained wide experience in personnel, training, quality and employment relations and organisational behaviour. Following a short spell in retail, she then became the Quality Manager for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development for six years. She was responsible for ensuring that all programmes which were accredited by CIPD throughout the world met the professional standards.
In August 2001 she was appointed Seear Fellow in Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour and became responsible for the professional practice and skills module on the MSc in Management and Human Resources programme here at LSE. She is an external examiner at Newcastle University and Visiting Lecturer at the Sorbonne Paris 1.
