Leverhulme Trust awards outstanding Management researcher

An “exceptional” researcher in LSE’s Department of Management has received one of five prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prizes in Economics.

Dr Fabian Waldinger, Associate Professor of Management, has been recognised for his research in economics of innovation, economic history, high-skilled immigration and economics of science.

The £100,000 prize, awarded to outstanding researchers whose future career is considered to be exceptionally promising, is allocated for activities to promote the prize winners’ future research.

Philip Leverhulme Prizes are designed to recognise and facilitate the work of researchers who are making original and significant contributions to knowledge, and whose work has already attracted international recognition. In 2016, 30 prizes were awarded to researchers in economics and five other disciplines. The winners were announced on Saturday 22 October.

Dr Camille Landais of LSE’s Department of Economics also received an award.

Dr Waldinger competed his PhD and MSc at LSE.
