The Future Avenues for IS Research

Friday 13th February, NAB 1.15, 2 - 4pm

Panel

  • M. Lynne Markus, Professor, Information and Process Management, Bentley University
  • Jannis Kallinikos, Professor, LSE
  • Yasmin Merali, Professor, Systems Thinking, Hull University Business School
  • Dr. Aleksi Aaltonen, Information Systems & Management Group, Warwick Business School

This ISRF panel is set to discuss and explore emerging data processing systems and infrastructures as well as the ways to study them.Traditionally IS research has focused on transactional and communicative systems in organisational and social contexts, whereas new types of systems could be  described as networked, data-driven and proactive. As the qualities and characteristics are changing, it may be necessary to  expand the view of IS research and transcend beyond traditional empirical settings, and also pay attention to computerised meaning-making and digitally maintained relationships.

All this and much more will be discussed with our panellists M. Lynne Markus, Jannis Kallini-kos, Yasmin Merali and Aleksi Aaltonen. Please come in number and share your thoughts and questions!
