Product Controller, Global Commododites, J.P. Morgan

After completing my undergraduate degree in engineering in India, I worked with Wipro Technologies and then with the Audit division at Accenture.

I then joined LSE for my Masters in Management of Information Systems. Thanks to the internship with Barclays which I got while at LSE I was able to realise my aspiration of getting into the banking industry.

On completion of the master's, I joined the Treasury Services division at JP Morgan, London. I moved to J.P. Morgan's commodities business in October 2010 and have been working in commodities finance since then.

I wanted to pursue a master's degree that was vocationally flexible, but would nonetheless assist me in fulfilling my aspiration of getting into the banking industry. I chose the Information Systems course at LSE, since it was the only degree among the offerings of the world's top tier universities which significantly focused on the social, management and economic aspects of information systems.

Even when the economic climate in 2008-2009 was stormy the LSE brand helped me to get interview calls and uniquely equipped me for the competitive job market.

Broadening one's thought processes might well sound like a cliché, but the education at LSE has indeed done that for me. I was privileged to listen to so many Heads of States and CEOs as a master's student.

Those stimulating lectures truly demonstrated to me the global connections and high international regard in which LSE is held.
