Fees - how much you need to pay for accommodation

How room rates are calculated

Room rates differ from hall to hall according to several factors

  • whether or not the hall is purpose built student accommodation
  • relative room size in the building
  • location within the building
  • available natural light
  • en suite or shared bathroom
  • proximity to shared facilities, such as bathrooms, kitchens, etc
  • bed size
  • whether or not a meal plan is included in the weekly charge

Additional costs

Electrical items testing
A standard £10 fee is charged so that we can test your personal electrical equipment. This service is compulsory. Tests are carried out in term one, but charges for the testing will be added to your second terms' bill.

Common room charge
The common room fee charge ranges from £10 to £20 per term, depending on the hall you live in. Some halls charge no common room fee, for details see the fee tables above.

Payment schedules 2016/17 per hall

You need to pay your fees by the end of the second week of each term. Your licence agreement will include a schedule of payment dates and amounts. All schedules per hall are available below.
