Food and drink

LSE's campus has plenty of food and drink outlets for students to enjoy.

The Bean Counter

The resident café in 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and light snacks, with plenty of space and power points for those who want to study over lunch.

Fourth Floor Café Bar

Perfect for catching up with friends over a coffee, the Café Bar also has a deli sandwich counter and makes healthy smoothies to order.

Café 54

On the ground floor of the New Academic Building, Café 54 is popular with students waiting for their next class or lecture.

Ye Olde White Horse Pub

Tucked away on a side street on LSE’s campus is Ye Olde White Horse, a traditional pub serving beer, wine and other drinks to students and public alike.

Denning Learning Café

Found on the first floor of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, this café serves breakfast and lunch food alongside tea, coffee and cold drinks. With plenty of room and large tables, it’s a great space for group and private study.

Weston Café

On the top floor of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, the Weston café is a quiet spot where students enjoy coffee, smoothies and cakes whilst socialising and studying. It also has a roof terrace with great views over London.

The Three Tuns

The official Students’ Union pub is found on the ground floor of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre. Students gather here for a catch up during the day, or a few drinks before a night out. The Tuns also screens major sports games.

Fourth Floor Restaurant

LSE’s largest restaurant has a hot and cold buffet selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  There’s often an international theme, so students can sample dishes from their classmates’ countries.

The Garrick

The Garrick sits on the corner of Houghton Street, and is open all day for coffee, cakes and sandwiches. ‘Downstairs at the Garrick’ also serves home-cooked breakfasts and hot lunches, with daily specials freshly prepared by the chef.

Plaza Café

Ideally situated next to the Library, this café has a large terrace where students enjoy the sunshine on breaks from studying.

Mezzanine Café

Overlooking the atrium in the New Academic Building, the Mezzanine has plenty of natural light and serves coffee, cakes, baguettes and cold drinks.

George IV Pub

LSE’s very own traditional British pub is thought to have been open since the mid 19th century. ‘The George’ is a popular meeting place after a day’s studying, serving drinks, bar snacks and light meals.

The Venue

In the basement of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, you’ll find the Venue, LSESU’s own nightclub. Friday night is ‘Saucy’, the official club night for LSE students.

Wright’s Bar

An LSE institution, Wright’s has been providing cheap drinks and snacks to LSE students for as long as anyone can remember.
