Study spaces and group study rooms

Bookings for group study rooms and study spaces can be made online via the room and space booking service.|

During the Summer term, spaces on the Ground, 2nd and 4th floors are bookable. Spaces on the Lower Ground, 1st and 3rd floors are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Study spaces

Study spaces are available throughout the Library - primarily at the quieter perimeters of the building. The majority of the Library's 2,022 study places are offered on a 'first come, first served' basis, with the following exceptions:

  • Quiet study areas are available on the ground and first floors
  • A study area specifically for LSE research students is available on the first floor
  • Designated book-able study spaces are available on the ground floor for LSE students only

(Increased areas of study spaces are designated as bookable for LSE students during the exam period - information about this is publicised nearer the time)

Group study rooms

  • Study rooms are available for LSE students to do group work without disturbing others in the Library.
  • Study rooms are available for between two and eight people - four rooms currently have computers.
  • The rooms can be booked for a maximum of three hours per day only.
  • The rooms can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
