Understanding Library study zones

Please respect the zones and your colleagues working in the library.

The Library has 3 coloured zones for different study styles. Please use the one that best suits your requirements.

Drinks in covered non-spill containers are allowed in all the zones.

Food is not allowed to be eaten anywhere in the Library, apart from the Escape areas outside of the turnstiles.

Group Zone (Green)

• Located on the Lower Ground and 4th floors.

• Suitable for group working and discussion at a moderate level.

• Quiet, non-disruptive mobile phone usage is allowed. Phones must be switched on silent at all times.

Quiet Zone (Yellow)

• Located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors on the Portugal Street side of the building (in front of the lifts).

• Suitable for quiet conversation, but not group work.

• Quiet, non-disruptive mobile phone usage is allowed. Phones must be switched on silent at all times.

Silent Zone (Red)

• Located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors on the Grange Court and John Watkins Plaza sides of the building (to the left and right of the lifts).

• Suitable for silent study, conversation cannot take place here.

• Mobile phone conversation is not allowed. Phones must be switched on silent at all times.
