Information Skills Training and Learning Support

Library entrance area

In order to excel in your studies or research, it is important to develop your digital and information skills. These skills are about knowing how to find, evaluate, use and manage and create information.

The Library's worksho programmes taught by the Academic Support Librarian team enable students and staff to develop their information and digital skills.

Support for your learning is also provided though one to one consultations and online though the suite of Library Companions.

Workshops and online training covering identifying, finding and evaluating information for your assignments, dissertations and research projects. These include literature searching, using news resources, keeping up to date with your subject.

The Library and CLT offer this six week training course for PhD students each term.

Managing information

The Library supports students and staff in managing information, creating and formatting bibliographies and the tools that can help you do this, e.g. Mnedeley, Zotero, EndNote. Workshops, online materials and one to one support

Legal research skills   will enable you to understand citations on your reading lists, to widen your research for your essays and dissertations, to participate in Mooting competitions and will be essential during your legal career.
