LSE Library is embarking upon a programme of learning and participation activities inspired by the unique holdings within our archives and special collections, including The Women’s Library collection.
Our aim is to extend access to these specialist collections to new audiences in a variety of ways.
Our objectives are:
-
To develop a policy and programme for learning and participation activities
-
To create a strategy for developing sustainable resources, partnerships and projects
-
To collaborate with current staff to promote use of the archive and special collections within LSE and beyond
-
To broaden engagement with the collections to schools and community groups locally, further into London and beyond
-
To research and consult with potential partners and service users
-
To capitalise upon the digital potential and reach the Library collections have
-
To evaluate and measure the success of the programme itself
In addition the creation of a new high-spec designated exhibition space within the Library showcases collections through a series of changing exhibitions, displays and related events.
We welcome contact from any interested parties; from schools to community groups, other cultural institutions to specialist interest groups and everything in between.
