Discover collections with Library Search

Start your search for materials from the Library homepage - simply type your search terms in the Library Search box, select your search scope and press Search.

  • Everything = print and online books, journals, articles, research papers, pamphlets, theses, government publications and much more
  • LSE Library Collections = print books and journals (Library Catalogue), LSE Research Online, LSE Theses Online, LSE Digital Library 
  • Articles = full text online journal articles and other database content where available and searchable.

From your result lists you have several options:

Alternative search options

Advanced search will enable you to locate items quickly or run more complex subject searches. 

Browse search by book/journal/database title, author or subject- useful for specific book or author searches 

EJournals A-Z is an alternative way to check whether the Library holds a journal online.

Filter results using the options menu on the left. Restrict the number of hits in your search result by Creator (author), date, topic, resource type, full-text or if the material is available now in the library.

Refine

Use the item tabs to access or locate the item:

View it shows the links to view the full text on your computer, phone or tablet.

Locations shows the classmark, location and availability of the printed item in the Library.   

View all versions if there is more than one edition of a book held in the library. 

More like this  lets you see a virtual picture of the book on its bookshelf in the library. It reveals other books shelved next to this one with similar subject matter.
