The majority of the Library's collections are available on open access.
There are certain collections which due to their unique nature, size or rarity are located in on-site closed access storage, e.g. LSE PhD theses.
Library users are able to order material for consultation from closed access storage by searching for the relevant items via the catalogue and handing in a completed paper fetch form. These are available at the service counter. Please complete as much information as possible to aid library staff in promptly finding the material requested.
You may place up to three items to be fetched at a time.
Library staff carries out fetches from the closed access storage areas on Monday to Friday at the following times:
The requested items can then be collected from the service counter at least 60 minutes later and will be held there until the end of the day (or the date specified).
Items can only be used within the Library and must be returned to the Service counter before it closes.
Please note that Archives and The Woman’s Library collections will need to be requested and viewed from the fourth floor reading room. See http://www.lse.ac.uk/library/usingTheLibrary/accessingMaterials/readingRoomAccess/home.aspx.
