African Studies Centre, Leiden
| Largest African studies collection in the Netherlands. Website provides free access to useful research guides, directories of African studies websites and African Studies Abstracts which indexes recently published journal articles.

Africa Portal|
Special project of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Makerere University (MAK), and the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). Includes a digital library of over 2,500 books, journals, and digital documents related to African policy. Some of these are published by African organisations. Also available is an online directory of experts, and an events calendar of forthcoming conferences.

The African Studies Companion: A Guide to Information Sources|
Regularly updated guide, available in print or online. Evaluates useful resources for researchers. Includes lists of African studies organisations, libraries and reviews of e-resources.

African Studies Internet resources|
Excellent site maintained by Columbia University Library. Includes a link to the International Directory of African Studies Scholars.

Africa Desk
|Collaboration between the British Academy and the African Studies Association of the UK, Provides free access to the latest edition of the ASAUK Directory of Africanists in Britain, a directory of UK and European libraries with key African studies collections and a listing of key journals. There are also news and research funding sections.

Sudan Open Archive|

This site is worth exploring. Maintained by the Rift Valley Institute, it aims to provide free access to full text materials about Sudan. A library of contemporary and historical literature on environmental issues was added in 2006. A collection of reports on local peace processes in 2007. There are plans to add ethnographic materials. It is possible to sign up to get alerts when new items are added.

Partners include such high profile organisations as African Studies Centre University of Oxford,Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center, The Nordic Africa Institute.
