Membership for visitors

Restricted access during induction period

Due to our busy induction period for newly registered LSE staff and students, membership to the Library will be restricted for external taught course students from:

  • Monday 21 September to Sunday 25 October.

Membership applications for undergraduates and masters students from University of London and SCONUL institutions will not be processed during this time.

These restrictions will not affect students with existing valid cards.

Private researchers carrying out non-commercial research may apply for reference access to the Library if they can show a genuine need to access our collections.

Visitors can apply using this link.

Membership for LSE users

LSE staff, students, associates and alumni Full-time LSE staff and students are automatically members of the Library. Associate Staff and LSE Alumni can apply for membership to use the Library's services with some conditions.
