Course books

  • The Course Collection (ground floor) holds multiple copies of essential course texts.
  • You can short-cut the searching for reading list books by clicking on the Reading lists option on the Library Catalogue.

Dictionaries and encyclopedias

  • The Library contains many  printed dictionaries, directories and encyclopedias which cover all aspects of media and communication studies.  They are useful for checking facts and figures, providing definitions of terminology and offering brief overview articles. Some of them are for reference use only,  while others may be borrowed. To locate them search by keyword on the main LSE Library catalogue. You can refine your search by choosing the genre dictionaries or dictionaries and encyclopedia from the left handside of the screen once you have run your search.

    Encyclopedia of Consumer Culture - includes articles on psychology and attitudes.

Ebooks

The Library has a growing number of ebooks. They are accessible to LSE staff and students by using their network username and password.  Major collections include:

  • Cambridge Books Online - free access to 100s of books from this leading academic publisher covering all subject areas.
  • Oxford reference online - access English and foreign language dictionaries
  • OECD ILibrary - read the full text of publications from the OECD these include World Economic Outlook and Information Technology Outlook.
  • Oxford Scholarship online - free access to 100s of books published by Oxford University Press. They include recent titles on psychology and business and management (covering organizational psychology).
  • Oxford Handbooks series. These include many full texts titles covering management and organizational psychology.
