Journal articles and online resources

Journal articles

Summon| is a fast and intuitive Library search system that enables you to search a wide range of Library content all in one place. Search for journal articles, print materials, ebooks, databases. theses, newspapers anmd more. Not all relevant resources for all topics are available via Summon|, so sometimes it is necessary to search individual databases.

If you are doing research on a topic and do not have a reading list then you will need to use our databases. Do not assume a simple Google search will find all articles.  Our databases cover materials from a wide range of publishers so will provide more information than you could retrieve from a single publisher's ejournal site.

  • Some databases will link to the full text of article - look for the orange LSE Article Finder button  articlefinder ; others will give you bibliographic details only.
  • Databases can also include information on book reviews, book chapters, grey literature, government reports, theses and so on.

Online information resources

Use the Subject guides to identify and locate the widest range of online resources in politics, economics, social policy, history, political economy and international relations.
