Journal articles and online resources

Journal articles

Summon| is a fast and intuitive library search system that enables you to search a wide range of LSE Library content, including journal articles, all in one place.

Note: Not all resources are available via Summon| and it is recommended to search individual databases in addition to a Summon| search.

If you are conducting research on a topic and do not have a reading list, we recommend starting with Summon| and searching individual databases. See the suggested list of databases below.

  • Do not assume a simple Google search will find all articles.
  • Our databases cover materials from a wide range of publishers so will provide more information than you could retrieve from a single publisher's ejournal site.
  • Some databases will link to the full text of article - look for the orange LSE Article Finder button  articlefinder; others will give you bibliographic details only.
  • Databases can also include information on book reviews, book chapters, grey literature, government reports, theses and so on.
