Carlos Ruiz Carmona, Spanish film director based in Portugal, presents Portrait (Retrato, 83", 2004). In this black and White film, Carlos R. constructs a fascinating documentary about his parents, which is also a portrait of a whole Spanish generation, those who married 'till death do us part'. Carlos R. describes the daily life of a couple that may have shared their lives for decades but who seem to know each other very little. The director witnesses their memories, dreams and disappointments.
The film is an intimate portrait but it has as background the legacy of the Spanish Civil War and the Francoist dictatorship.
After the screening there will be a question and answer session with an expert to be announced.
