Arabic is taught at LSE as part of our extra curricular language programme available to all LSE staff, students, researchers and academics.
The expertise of our experienced teaching team is also used on our Summer Language Programme...a range of short but sweet Summer Language Courses.
A course for absolute beginners. You will have no knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic but wish to have an introduction to the basics and learn some language at survival level.
Pre-requisites:

This course is suitable for students wanting to learn Modern Standard Arabic

No previous knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic required
Course aims:

The course introduces the students to the Arabic writing system and enables them to read and write basic words and sentences

To deal with a range of predictable simple language tasks using a limited range of language

To establish the skills- language and attitudes required to promote and facilitate further study of Arabic
This course has two options. Either a 12 or 16 hour course. Those who complete this course could progress (upon tutor’s approval) to our Certificate courses in the autumn.
A continuation from Arabic Beginners 1 or for those students who have familiarity with Arabic script and who read and write basic words and sentences.
