About me

My current position at LSE involves coordinating EAP support for the  LN993 Academic cluster as well as support for the LN900 Academic cluster as well as working with Graduate Teaching Assistants to improve their teaching skills and co-ordinating the Teaching English for Academic Purposes (TEAP) course for EAP teachers.

I have worked in English for Academic Purposes for over 20 years and also taught at Kings College and the University of Sussex. My BA is in German and Politics from Bristol University and my MA is in ELT and Applied Linguistics from Kings College. I am interested in Assessment in EAP and teacher training.

About the Language Centre

The Language Centre here at the London School of Economics reflects the specialist nature of the School itself, namely, a world class institution where the quality of teaching and research is paramount.

LSE is not just a multi-national university but also a multi-lingual one.

We offer English for Academic Purposes programmes, undergraduate degree courses and a range of language options that you can take outside of your main degree programme. All programmes and courses relate language study and support to the fields of interest of social science students.

The Language Centre is part of LSE’s Academic and Professional Development Division.

About the Academic and Professional Development Division

The units in LSE’s Academic and Professional Development Division run degree programmes, courses and events; offer advice, opportunities and funding to advance the development of academic staff and students; and support the implementation of educational strategy and policy across the School.

LSE Language Centre

The Language Centre provides language courses, language support and services to LSE undergraduate students, post-graduate students, research students, LSE alumni, LSE staff and external students.

LSE LIFE

LSE LIFE is the new academic, personal and professional development centre for undergraduate and taught master’s students, housed in bespoke space on the ground floor of the Library and offering hundreds of events, workshops and one to one sessions each term.

LSE’s flagship interdisciplinary course, LSE100: Thinking like a social scientist, introduces undergraduate students to the ways in which different disciplines analyse some of the major issues confronting contemporary societies.

LSE Teaching and Learning Centre

LSE’s Teaching and Learning Centre offers events, formal qualifications and a range of development and funding opportunities to academic staff and those with teaching roles across the School.
