The Innovation Co-creation Lab, the Latin America and Caribbean Centre and LSE Generate were delighted to jointly host its final of 3 events entitled ‘Social Entrepreneurship 360’, sponsored by Santander. Each event addressed one of the defining movements of our time, the rise of social entrepreneurship and the practicalities of initiating, growing, building and scaling social enterprises in Latin America and other emerging markets.

The final event took place on June 7th 2018 at LSE. The morning session was made up of four presentations by social entrepreneurs at different stages of development, including José Tomás Lobo - City Director in Santiago de Chile for Laboratoria a social startup that empowers young women from low-income backgrounds by giving them access to education and work in the digital sector.

The social entrepreneurs engaged with students and academics; explaining their journey, business models, ‘golden nuggets’ for success and discussed failures and lessons learnt. The afternoon sessions consisted of interactive boot camps and workshops including, one entitled How to ensure stakeholders’ voice in the B Corps model? That analysed four cases of Brazilian B Corps and how their corporate governance balances social and financial goals, run by Malu Villela Garcia.
