Campus Tours

Student-led campus tours will take place throughout Welcome: on Friday 15 and Monday 18 - Friday 22 September 2017.

Our campus tour guides are current LSE students who have been fully trained to help you get to know campus, navigate it safely and efficiently and to share their favourite spots or places they wish they'd found out about sooner!

Location

Times

  • The first tour leaves at 10am and the final tour at 4pm.
  • Tours depart every 15-20 minutes, dependent on demand.
  • Tours are approximately one hour in length.

Group size

  • Each tour group will contain between 10 and 20 attendees.
  • This is the optimum group size becausae it is small enough for you to ask your tour guide your questions, but big enough for you to socialise (which we encourage!) at the end of your tour.

Booking information

  • No booking required, just turn up!
  • At busy times, please be prepared to wait a short while for the next available tour.

Weather

  • These tours will take place in all weather, as long as it remains safe to do so.
  • Make sure you're dressed appropriately and wearing comfortable footwear.
  • Bring waterproofs in case or rain and suncream / water in case of heat.

Accessibility

  • The tour route has been designed to be accessible and inclusive for all attendees.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please email welcomeweek@lse.ac.uk (please note that it can take up to 3 working days to receive a response), speak to a student staff member in the Welcome Hub, or alert your tour guide prior to departure.

If you're arriving before or after Welcome, or if you'd just rather get to know the place at your own pace, you can download our LSExplorer instead!

Local History Tours

Professional Local History Tours tours will take place throughout Welcome: on Friday 15 and Monday 18 - Friday 22 September 2017.

Tim, our Professional Tour Guide, will take you off campus and back in time! Learn about the fascinating history of neighbouring Lincoln’s Inn, the infamous Sweeney Todd of Fleet Street, meet Dr Johnson's cat and much more!

Location

Times

  • Local History Tours leave four times per day: at 12:30pm, 1:45pm, 3pm and 4pm.
  • Tours leave promptly, so make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes in advance of your chosen tour time.
  • Tours are approximately one hour in length.

Group size

  • Each tour group will contain up to 30 attendees.

Booking information

  • These tours are very popular, so booking using Eventbrite is strongly recommended.
  • It might be possible to attend without booking, however it will depend entirely on the number of pre-booked attendees for that particular tour.
  • Speak to a student member of staff at the Welcome Hub for more information.
