Ticket booking requests


The Registry office sends invitations by email in February for the summer ceremonies and in August for the winter ceremonies. Graduands should submit a booking request by the deadline specified in the invitation. 

Research students must be awarded by 30 April to be invited to the summer ceremonies, and 30 September to be invited to the winter ceremonies.

Ceremony tickets are free of charge.

Please note that you must book your place by the deadline specified in the invitation, even if you have not received your results. Should you subsequently find that you have not successfully completed your degree, you will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony until you have, and we will automatically cancel your booking.

Booking requests

The invitation contains instructions on how to submit a booking request, including a link to the booking web form, and the booking deadline. Please note that after the booking deadline, the ceremonies may sell out.

By submitting a booking request, graduands will reserve their own ceremony ticket and have the opportunity to request up to two guest tickets. Extra guest tickets, beyond two per graduand, are unlikely to be available. See Guest tickets for details.

Once you submit the booking request, an automated email outlining your request is sent to the email address you have registered with the booking website. Please check these details to ensure the request you submitted is correct.

Important notes about the booking

Ticket Confirmation

Shortly after the booking deadline, usually within the following week, we will send an email to confirm ticket reservations and the date and time of your department's ceremony.

Special seating arrangements

Please log any special seating requirements due to, for example, visual impairment or mobility issues, on the booking form. Alternatively, you may email Ceremonies. We can usually make appropriate arrangements provided that we receive sufficient notice.


If wish to cancel your booking, please email ceremonies@lse.ac.uk as soon as possible.

Ede and Ravenscroft, the suppliers of academic dress, will normally refund the cost of gown hire if you do not successfully complete your degree, but please contact them directly for further details. Should the need arise, it is your responsibility to contact Ede and Ravenscroft to arrange a refund.
