Request a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) statement

June 2015 – IMPORTANT NOTICE – Please note that CAS statements will not be issued between 26 August and 2 September 2015. Any CAS requests received during this time will be processed as soon as possible after 2 September 2015.

Please do not complete this form if you have been made an offer for a new programme of study at LSE. Admissions will automaticallyissue you with a new CAS for this programme once you have met the requirements for one. The only exception to this are incoming students on double/dual degree programmes.


 The form on this page is for:

  • currently registered LSE students who wish to extend their existing student visa and require a CAS;
  • students currently on interruption or repeat teaching, expected to return to the LSE to resume their studies or take assessments; and
  • incoming students on double/dual degree programmeswho wish to join the LSE for the second yearof their programme and require a CAS

Offer holders, or students expecting to register at the LSE, should contact either Graduate or Undergraduate Admissions with any CAS queries.


June 2015 - please note that we are currently experiencing problems with sending out confirmation emails following the submission of this webform. This is due to a technical issue that we are working to resolve. It is possible that you will not receive a confirmation email even if your request form has been submitted successfully. Instructions for submitting a CAS Request

  • Please have your passport and current visa with you before filling in this form. It is your responsibility to fill in this form using correct information. If you submit incorrect information to us, we will send it to the UK Visas & Immigration and if your application does not match, your Tier 4 application could be refused.
  • Please complete all fields. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are compulsory.
  • Please take time to double check all information on the statement.  If any of the information is incorrect, please contact Registry as soon as possible, and state 'CAS Request Webform' in the subject line.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once we receive your CAS request.
  • If you do not receive an email confirmation, we have not received your request.
  • Your CAS statement will be emailed to you, usually within two weeks of submission. Current LSE students with CAS queries may contact 020 7955 7130.

Your CAS number is valid for 6 months from the date of issuing.

If applying for a Tier 4 visa from within the UK, you can apply to extend your stay in the UK  up to six months before your current student visa expires or before the sponsorship start date shown on your CAS.

If applying for a Tier 4 visa from outside the UK, you can apply for a Tier 4 visa up to three months before the sponsorship start date shown on your CAS.

    This must be the same passport that you will be using for your Tier 4 application.

    Please use the browse button to submit a scanned copy of the photograph page of your passport and your current / most recent UK visa (if applicable). We cannot process your request if you do not submit the required documentation.
  • Submit your CAS request
    CAS requests will ordinarily be processed within ten working days of submission. Please do not click 'Submit' more than once - it may take a few moments for the form to be submitted. You will receive an email confirmation when the request has been submitted.
