Economica Scholarship

The Economica Scholarship is open to students registered for a research degree in the Department of Economics.

1. Successful candidates will be required to register as full-time students of the School for as long as they hold the scholarship.
   
   
2. Eligibility for the scholarship: students must be due to enter their 2^nd or 3^rd year of study in the year of the award on the MPhil/PhD Economics degree programme or on the MRes/PhD Economics degree programme (includes MRes/PhD 2^nd and 3^rd year Track 1 and MRes 1^st and 2^nd year Track 2 students).  MRes/PhD 1^st year Track 1 students are NOT eligible
   
   
3. The award shall be made by the Graduate Studies Committee of the Economics Department solely on grounds of academic merit.  An award will be made only if there is a candidate of sufficient merit
   
   
4. The scholarship will be tenable for one year in the first instance and subject to satisfactory academic progress is usually renewed for a second and final year.
   
   
5. The holder of the scholarship is expected to consult with his/her supervisor before accepting other paid employment.  Outside commitments which jeopardise a student's research will not be accepted.
