General Sir John Monash Awards

Annually up to eight awards will be made to outstanding Australians graduating from Australian universities to enable them to study abroad. The awards are available for study towards a PhD, or exceptionally, a professional masters.

Canadian Centennial Scholarships Fund

The Trustees of the Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF) provide funds for awards to Canadian men and women for academic and artistic studies in the UK, that are exclusively for students who have already commenced their studies in the UK. The scholarships include The Mary LeMessurier award for the study of history. Previous applicants may re-apply.

London Goodenough Assocation of Canada Scholarship Programme

The LGAC awards Scholarships towards the cost of accommodation at Goodenough College|, the pre-eminent residential college for international graduate students in London. The LGAC is an association of Canadian former students who lived in the College's residences.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships

The annual Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships competition in the social sciences and humanities is open to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants pursuing full-time doctoral studies in Canada, and exceptionally to Canadians pursuing full-time doctoral studies at foreign institutions.

Colombia

COLFUTURO/LSE Graduate Scholarship Programme

Each year LSE part-funds a number of awards in conjunction with COLFUTURO for one year taught Master's and three year PhD programmes.

LSE contributes 20% of the total tuition fee liability for a number of scholars selected by COLFUTURO under their standard loan-scholarship programme. COLFUTURO cover the remaining fee balance and living costs, up to a total of US$25,000 per year, for a maximum of two years. COLFUTURO's contribution is 50% scholarship and 50% repayable loan.

Applications for these awards should be made directly to COLFUTURO, under the Programa de Credito-Beca, following their established procedures. You must obtain an unconditional offer of admission to LSE before applying to COLFUTURO. All applicants selected by COLFUTURO will then automatically qualify for the 20% fee contribution.

Cyprus

Cyprus State Scholarship Authority

Scholarships for postgraduate students who have obtained a First Class Honours degree at undergraduate level (if they wish to study abroad). Value: £3700 per year.

Denmark

Anglo-Danish Society Awards

Awards for students of Danish Nationality for scholarships tenable at universities or other approved institution in the United Kingdom with a first degree from a Danish University.

In all cases preference will be given to applicants who have either embarked on postgraduate research leading to a higher degree (normally a PhD), or who are assured of being able to do so in the academic year following submission of their application.

Mexico

CONACYT/LSE Graduate Scholarship Programme

Each year LSE part-funds a number of awards in conjunction with CONACYT.

LSE contributes 25% of the total tuition fee liability for a number of scholars selected by CONACYT under their standard award programme. CONACYT cover the remaining fee balance. CONACYT normally expect their awards to be repaid following graduation, however the LSE contribution is not repayable.

Applications for these awards should be made directly to CONACYT, under the Convocatoria de Becas-Credito al Extranjero, following their established procedures.  You must apply directly to LSE for a place on a programme of study at the same time. 

Applicants selected by CONACYT, who are also offered a place on a programme at LSE, will then automatically qualify for the 25% fee contribution.There are no subject restrictions from LSE's point of view, but CONACYT may operate such restrictions, and details should be checked with them before application.

FIDERH (Human Resources Development Fund) Loan Scheme

This fund was created in 1971 by the Mexican government to provide support for the advancement of higher education.  It is a non-profit institution which offers loans to postgraduate students who will then apply their knowledge to improve the social and economic situation in Mexico.

Tan Kah Kee Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship

The Tan Kah Kee Foundation has been awarding postgraduate scholarship since 1983. The scholarships are open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents who are pursuing full-time Master degree or PhD in any discipline, regardless of race or religion. Candidates are appraised on their academic achievements, outstanding personal character and bilingual capabilities. The scholarship will be awarded annually and is bond-free.
