The two St Philips buildings house teaching rooms, offices, PHD study spaces, a medical centre, a dental surgery and an EDF sub-station. Work has been ongoing within Estates to find and relocate these facilities to new homes within the LSE campus. Teaching, office and PHD study space has been relocated across the campus.
The medical centre will be moved to the first and second floors of Tower 3 in mid-April and the dental surgery is due to move to the fourth floor of Sardinia House by the end of April.
One of the St Philips buildings houses an EDF sub-station which provides an electricity supply to part of the Old Building. In order to maintain this service the sub-station is being temporarily relocated to the paved area between the Peacock Theatre and Parish Hall. This temporary sub-station will remain in this location until a new permanent station is constructed as part of the NSC project.
