Undergraduate students

Welcome to LSE LIFE.

An LSE undergraduate education offers a unique opportunity for students to study at the heart of a world leading research institute. We can equip you with the academic tools needed to make every day at LSE an opportunity for personal success and development.

We have first-hand experience of the unique set of challenges that this environment presents to undergraduate students. We have been there ourselves and we’re trained to support you through your educational journey. Within the academic context, we know that undergraduate students experience a wide-range of challenges and this leads to a lot of questions. Questions such as: how do I deal with multiple essay deadlines? How do I structure an essay at LSE? How can I be better at time management? How can I turn up prepared for seminars every time? How can I get more out of my courses?

We are delighted to introduce you to LSE’s new academic, personal and professional development centre for undergraduate and taught master’s students. Our mission is simple. We’re here to help you make the most of your time at LSE.

With that in mind, on these pages you will find information about what is happening in LSE LIFE and resources to help you enhance your academic performance and develop personally and professionally.

Our online resources offer an essential guide to the tools you will need during your time at LSE:

You may also be interested in the LSE LIFE curricula – a broad range of study skills workshops and personal and professional events, including:

  • How to study at LSE: an introduction for undergraduate students
  • Make clear, concise and critical notes from your reading
  • Question the question: what exactly am I being asked to write about?
  • Group work support
  • Write essays that LSE markers want to read

Come in and talk to one of our study advisers about your experiences at LSE. You can drop in or book a 1:1 session online to discuss your studies.

Studying for an undergraduate degree at LSE offers unique opportunities and challenges and we are dedicated to helping you make the most of your time here. We look forward to connecting with you over the course of this academic year. Find us at the heart of campus on the ground floor of the Library.
