Global Corporate Challenge - the results and awards ceremony
Congratulations to everyone who took part in this year's Global Corporate Challenge (GCC). The event was a huge success: 43 teams took part in the 100 day challenge,
achieving a step average of 14,522 and covering a distance of 280,408 km.
A big well done goes to the 'Olympians of LSE' based in the Hellenic Observatory (European Institute) and Elias Daoud of ‘Holborn Runners’ (Residential Services) who finished top of the team and individual LSE rankings respectively. For all the final results, see LSE's Progress Report.
The 'end of challenge' awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 27 October from 11am in the basement of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre. The event will celebrate the successes of all participants and there will be a number of award presentations, plus GCC will provide information on how LSE performed overall. If you have any questions about the event, please email staffwellbeing@lse.ac.uk.

...is coming!
Over the last couple of years, a craze has swept the LSE campus. “Steps” became the new capital (echoes of “how many, how many?” still reverberate around the NAB), staff groups wore new grooves in the pathways of Lincolns’ Inn Fields on a never-ending trundle, and working accelerometers were traded on the black market.
100 days later, winners were declared: Department of Management in 2014 and a mixed departmental team in 2015. That opportunity is here again.
The Global Corporate Challenge is back:
-
New adventurers will be sought
-
Trainers will be dusted off
-
Buses will be alighted one stop early
-
Stairs will be climbed
-
Obsessions with accelerometers will set in
Whatever your current activity level, GCC offers a fun opportunity to team up with colleagues to improve your fitness and achieve personal health goals, whilst engaging in a bit of healthy competition with colleagues (oh, and 40,000 or so other teams across the world).
This 100-day activity challenge starts on 25th May 2016 and more detail will follow before registration opens on Friday 8 April 2016. Keep an eye out around campus and on the intranet for GCC related news, information and pop-up events between now and then.
